Two things live on this page, and they're priced differently on purpose: software you subscribe to, and one-time expert services from a biostatistician you buy per deliverable — on any plan, including Free.

Reviews and consultations are conducted by a doctorally-trained biostatistician with graduate public-health training and more than a decade designing, analyzing, and reviewing studies in clinical and health-services research — the same lens a grant reviewer or a journal's statistical editor brings to your work.
You work directly with the statistician, not a queue or a call center. How the software side is checked is documented on the methods page. The goal is simple: catch the design and analysis problems that sink grants and papers before you submit, while the study is still on paper and cheap to change.
For exploratory work, coursework, internal quality-improvement projects, and low-stakes studies, a well-specified AI plan is often enough to get moving. For grant submissions, publications, theses, and anything headed for peer or regulatory review, a human read is worth it — a biostatistician catches subtle design–analysis mismatches, unrealistic power assumptions, and feasibility problems that a template can miss.
MedStatica is founder-run: every review and consultation is performed personally by the same credentialed biostatistician (DrPH, MPH) with extensive experience in clinical and health-services research. There's no hand-off to junior staff, contractors, or a call center — which is also why engagement slots are limited each month.
A limited number each month — enough to give every plan a genuine line-by-line read rather than a skim. If the current month is full, you'll be offered the next available slot when you reach out. If you're working toward a grant or submission deadline, book at least 3–4 weeks ahead.
When you purchase an Expert Review or a Consultation, your account gets Pro features for 30 days at no extra charge — the Deep engine, senior AI review pass, saved plans, and version history — so you can refine your plan before the review and act on the feedback after. It does not auto-renew; when the 30 days end, your account simply returns to your existing plan.
Teams is $99/month for 5 seats — or $990/year, two months free — with additional seats at $15/seat/month, billed monthly by card or annually by invoice. Monthly is self-serve — choose your seat count and pay by card; annual billing and institutional purchase orders are invoiced, so email us for those. For residency programs, fellowships, or departments that want broader access, ask about a program license — we'll scope seats and pooled plan volume to your group.
Yes — that's the Enterprise plan: an annual, invoiced software license covering every trainee program and department at your institution, with volume pricing and usage summaries for program directors. It's priced by quote because seats, programs, and plan volume vary widely. One honest note: the software scales to any size, but expert reviews and consultations are performed personally by one biostatistician and remain per-deliverable with limited monthly capacity — they aren't bundled into institutional licenses.
Your existing plans stay accessible; you just can't generate new ones until the month resets. If you regularly need more, that's a good signal to move up a tier — or email us and we'll add a one-time top-up. The limits are set so that typical research use never touches them.
BYOK is included with Pro and Teams, for users who would rather pay Anthropic directly: you connect your own Anthropic API key and MedStatica adds no charge on top of your plan. All plan generation runs on your key, so AI usage is billed directly to you by Anthropic, and the monthly plan cap is removed (subject to fair use). Your study text goes straight from your browser to Anthropic — it never passes through our servers. Your key is stored in your browser by default; you can optionally sync it to your other devices, in which case we keep an encrypted copy tied to your account. It is never logged, and you can remove it anytime. One boundary to know: issues with your Anthropic account, key limits, or Anthropic billing are between you and Anthropic — we support the MedStatica side.
Yes. Residents, fellows, and students get Pro for $15/month, verified with an institutional email address — verify yours in the Account tab and academic and health-system domains unlock the rate straight away; anything we don't recognise takes a quick manual check by email. Annual billing gets everyone two months free ($290/year instead of $348).
7–10 business days from when you send the plan and any needed context — reviews are done personally, in a capacity-capped queue, so the estimate is honest rather than optimistic. An expedited turnaround is sometimes available for +$150 depending on the current queue — email first to confirm before purchasing.
A 60-minute live video call focused on your study: design choices, the primary analysis, sample size and power strategy, and how the plan fits your funding mechanism. Afterward you get a written summary with concrete action items, plus a 7-day window to ask follow-up questions.
Yes. The expert services are one-time and priced per deliverable, so you can buy a review or a consultation on any plan — Free included. You don't have to be a subscriber, and each purchase includes a month of Pro anyway.
No — and be cautious of anyone who does. The review strengthens your design and analysis and flags problems reviewers commonly raise, but funding and publication decisions rest with the sponsor, journal, and reviewers.
No. Think of it as an independent second opinion. Where your institution requires a statistician of record, a formal statistical analysis plan, or a biostatistics-core sign-off, those still apply — a MedStatica review complements them, it doesn't replace them.
Please don't send protected health information. Reviews and consultations work from your de-identified study description or your MedStatica plan — the design, the variables, and the analysis, not individual-level patient records. If your project involves PHI, keep it within your institution's approved systems.
Consultations can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice. If a review hasn't started, it's fully refundable; once work has begun, refunds are prorated. Subscriptions can be cancelled anytime and remain active through the paid period. Reach us at hello@medstatica.com and we'll sort it out.
Pro and Teams are subscriptions billed by card (or by invoice for annual Teams). Expert Review, Consultation, and à-la-carte services are one-time charges invoiced per engagement. Institutional purchase orders are welcome for Teams, program licenses, Enterprise agreements, and larger service packages — ask us.
